When it comes to amazing miniature photography, Felix Hernández is the man. He often builds his models from scratch using available materials. Although he’s had some works inspired by famous movies (like Star Wars or Back to the Future), this time he was inspired by the feeling of deep solitude.

Felix’s works range from fantasy-inspired to super realistic photos. This time, he went with the realistic look and chose a beach to be his studio. He built a miniature house using materials we can all get – Styrofoam, wood, cement, plus some glue and paint. And as always, I am impressed with the final result and the mood of his work.

Felix shared a BTS video of his work, showing everything from the square sheet of Styrofoam to the finished product. With lots of skill, attention to details and a clear idea in mind, he built an abandoned building on the dock. To make the atmosphere even more realistic, he brought the model building to the beach and took the shots there. The project is entitled “No One Cares,” and this is how Felix describes it:

Sometimes you feel in the middle of nowhere…

No matter how loud you shout, no one listens,

even though you are open to share, it seems, no one cares.

The words describe the mood of the photo, and the photo speaks these words. The feeling of isolation, abandonment, and solitude is strong. Although the photo was taken on the beach, to me it’s even a bit haunting. And when I think this was all made from stuff we can get for a couple of bucks, or at most times even have somewhere at home… It impresses me even more.
