How Nikon cameras “prove” that the Earth is flat

We all learned at school that the Earth is round and that it orbits around the Sun. But there are people who believe that the Earth is flat. And not just that they believe, but they use a powerful zoom of Nikon P900 and P1000 to prove it!
In the hard-to-believe video above, Dylan Dubeau of Not Exactly Normal visits the second annual International Flat Earth Conference (yes, that really exists). He chats to the attendees, trying to figure out what stands behind their belief. You can hear them offer some “empirical evidence” to crack the “myths” of the round Earth. But what photographers might find interesting is that Nikon P900 and P1000 are the cameras they use to support their claims.
Around 9:30 of the video, you can hear that the “flat earthers” really love these cameras. They use the 83x zoom of the P900 and the 125x of the P1000 to capture far off images. They can zoom so far that they can see the edge of the world. And Dylan notices that they love these cameras so much, that Nikon should probably market them as “flat Earth cameras.”
One of the beliefs of “flat earthers” is that the International Space Station (ISS) isn’t real. Interestingly enough, the Nikon P900 they love so much was used to shoot that same ISS back in 2016. What I also find interesting is that NASA also uses Nikon cameras and sends them to outer space. But they use the D5 so it probably doesn’t count.
So, if you have a Nikon P900 or P1000, what are you waiting for? Go and zoom as far as you can and tell us what you see. Is the Earth really flat? I’m curious to know if everything that has been scientifically proven is actually a lie.

With such cameras, you can actually demonstrate that the earth is round.
Not when you believe the earth is flat as they use all sorts of totally unscientific arguments. These people know just enough of science (which is minimal) to be dangerous and sounding downright silly and stupid. I just read them for fun so once in a while.
And this relates to DIY photography how?

I joined a couple of flat earth groups in facebook just for laughs a while ago. What they don’t seem to get is that about half the posts were making fun of them…look at this glass of water, see? The surface of the water is FLAT! At least, it seemed to me they were being made fun of. Either that, or they’re screwier thanI’d thought!
So how can you see the bottom of a boat 34 miles away looking at eye level on a beach , which I have done , and when there should be 700 feet of curve when using the P1000.

Maybe you might say refraction bends it up to EXACTLY my eye level.

I see the unmitigated ignorance and blind religious faith in a government that has been lying to, and manipulating its populace for 100 years. I also see sarcastic comments from people who have NEVER Thought or Researched Anything for themselves. You are very good at REGURGITATING the “Scientific” drivel that was force fed to you from birth till now.
I always question my teachers to the point that they said they didn’t know, they were just taught that. Much like most of you.
As I said at the top, Have you been into space? Or are you “Trusting NASA”. The agency that ERASED ALL THE DATA of the entire space program from the first moon launch to the last, to reuse the data tapes. ????
The same agency that says they would qlove to go to the Moon and to Mars, but they are still trying to figure out how to get through the VanAllen radio belt without killing the astronauts and burning up the circuitry.
The same agency that has ZERO photos of the moon. The one they showed for years, was debunked as real when some smart Adobe photoshopped people increase gamma and edge detected (or something of that nature and found it was a an old “Trick photography” technique to blend photos
All of their photos are CGI and photoshop generated….which you would know if you used your keyboards to research instead of put people down who didn’t walk around as a public school autonomaton speaking out “government approved facts”.
Am I a flat earther or a globalist? Neither side has proven irrefutably one way or another, but I do KNOW for a fact that the earth is not as small as they tell us it is. I have gone out and done my own research. I would suggest you do the same.

no body has ever flown around the earth from north to south nobody
there are NO pictures of earth from space just images and images are NOT real
I still have the p900 and I can not find a curve, especially where it should be when you know the dimensions of the earth
