Tokina has just announced an SZ 8mm F2.8 FISH-EYE lens. It’s designed for mirrorless cameras and it comes in two mount variants: Fuji X and Sony E.

This lens is compact and lightweight, fast, and can focus pretty close. Because of all this, it wants to be a lens that you’ll always have in your bag.

The Tokina SZ 8mm F2.8 FISH-EYE is a manual focus lens with a clickless aperture ring. Therefore, you can use it for both photos and video. The manufacturer particularly points out vlogging, as you can use this lens as a part of your vlogging setup. Of course, you can shoot landscape, interior, architecture, street, concert, event, and pet photography. Maybe even try some super-weird portraits, why not?

As I mentioned, you can get pretty close to your subject with this lens, with a minimum focus distance of 10 cm. Take a look at some sample shots:

The lens weighs 280g, with an overall length of 52mm. It’s designed for APS-C cameras, but you can use it on full-frame too with a detachable bayonet-type hood. This way, you’ll get the circular fisheye effect.

Take a look at the specs:
