For all those who want to bring together the instant printing of Polaroid and modern-age mobile photography, Prynt has launched an interesting gadget. It’s called Prynt Pocket, and it allows you to print the photos directly from your iPhone. It’s a small and simple phone case, but it stores 10 sheets of inkless sticker film. Together with the iOS app, it allows you to play and even bring together printed photos and the videos.

Prynt debuted with their first printer/phone case in 2014 after a successful Kickstarter campaign. The Prynt Pocket is their new product – easy to grip, simple to use and fits in a palm of your hand.

This case is shaped to resemble a camera grip, and it’s connected to your camera through lightning port. It has a physical shutter and a zoom dial, like the real camera. It allows you to print the photo immediately, but also have the digital version stored in your phone. As for the compatibility, only iPhone users can attach it to their phones, and you need to have one of the following models: Apple iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5. If you download the Prynt App from iTunes, you’ll get plenty of features to explore.

The feature I found the most interesting is that you can bring together a printed photo and the video. When you record a video, you can print its frame as a still image. After this, you can scan the print with your phone. The app will recognize it and play the video you recorded through the printed photo. You may think “what kind of sorcery is this?” so take a look at the gif:

The only trouble I see is that Prynt Pocket is only $30 cheaper from Polaroid Snap Touch. Because of this, my guess is some people would rather opt for a separate camera at this price. However, this printer/case might come in handy in different situations, especially if you prefer bringing your iPhone everywhere rather than an instant camera. At the moment, Prynt Pocket case is available for preorders for $150. You can choose between three colors and the shipping starts mid-June.

Is anyone else getting frustrated with every device only working on the current phone? Every upgrade and all your beloved accessories have to be replaced.

Tell me about it, I use a 4-year-old LG smartphone. I can’t even install some of the apps. :D

tiny polaroid sticker prints? .. no thanks. I’d rather have a decent SLR that uses instax wide… or have my beloved fp100c and fp3000b back.
