Polaroid has today announced two new products. There’s the Polaroid Mint 2-in-1 instant digital camera & printer and the Polaroid Mint instant digital pocket printer. The Mint 2-in-1 is a digital camera aimed at selfie shooters. It even features an “integrated selfie mirror”. The Mint pocket printer is for use with your smartphone or tablet.
Polaroid Mint 2-in-1 Instant Digital Camera and Printer
The Polaroid Mint camera has a vertical design and allows you to quickly shoot photos or selfies and then make a quick 2″x3″ Zero Ink print. The process is simple. Choose whether you want colour, black & white or sepia, then add a frame if you like and take a shot. This instantly prints the photo.
- 16 Megapixel camera
- microSD card slot (up to 256GB)
- Integrated selfie mirror
- Automatic LED flash
- Self-timer
- Colours: Black, white, red, blue and yellow
- Price: £109.99 / $99.99
I quite like the idea of a camera that you’re not entirely sure what you’re going to get until after you take the shot and it spits it out. Of course, if you’re consistently getting shots you don’t like, that could get real expensive rather quickly.
Polaroid Mint Instant Digital Pocket Printer
The Polaroid Mint Pocket Printer is also available in the same colours, has no storage, but prints images directly from your smartphone. Like the camera above, the Pocket Printer uses Zero Ink technology to make 2″x3£ full colour glossy photos in less than a minute. The app on your phone allows you to add frames, filters and stickers to your images before printing.
- Standard USB charging cable/port (appears to be micro USB)
- Polaroid Mint app available for iOS and Android
- Available in Black, white, red, blue and yellow
- Price: £119.99 / $129.99
Polaroid says that the Mint Pocket Printer offers 50 prints on a single charge, and connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
It’s currently on display and available for demos at IFA 2018 in Berlin (Hall 25, booth #107) and should be hitting retailers worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2018 (so, sometime after October 1st).
They’re not listed on the Polaroid website yet, so no links for more info, but as soon as we see them, we’ll update this post.
