Explore the Fujifilm X-E5 with classic design, new features, and pricing. Paired with the XF23mm f/2.8 R WR lens, arriving late summer 2025.

Fujifilm has just released the new X-E5, which combines the best features of the X100VI with the ability to change lenses. It seems a great blend of versatility, sharp photos, and impressive 6.2K video quality. The FUJIFILM X-E5 mirrorless camera could be the perfect choice for you. The classic style of a retro rangefinder, but with modern technology!

40.2MP X-Trans Sensor: Big Power in a Small Body

The Fujifilm X-E5 has the same 40.2MP APS-C sensor that Fuji used in the X100VI, and it performs well. The X-Processor 5 gives excellent image quality. Fujifilm says this combination provides a very low base ISO of 125 and reduces graininess, especially in dim lighting. Moreover, the digital teleconverter offers 1.4x and 2.0x zoom. With this, you can get closer to your subject without switching lenses. As far as autofocus is concerned, it has 425 points along with Fuji’s AI subject detection.

This means whatever you’re capturing, will remain in focus, even if they’re moving quickly.

Custom Film Looks, Right at Your Fingertips

One of the key highlight of the Fujifilm X-E5 is the film simulation dial. Instead of navigating through menus, you can simply turn the dial to choose from 20 different styles. This includes popular ones like Velvia, Classic Chrome, and ACROS. There are also three custom slots available, so you can save your own settings for quick access.

I think that having a physical dial will boost the experience of street photography and capturing unexpected moments. It’s similar to having your favorite filters ready for use.

Video Capabilities That Don’t Feel Like an Afterthought

The Fujifilm X-E5 is impressive in terms of videography. It can record in up to 6.2K at 30 frames per second, 4K at 60 frames per second, and even slow motion in Full HD at 240 frames per second. This gives you a lot of options. Fuji says it supports H.265 and H.264 formats and offers both Long GOP and All-Intra compression. This allows you to manage file sizes and your editing process effectively.

We all deal with blurry faces in our videos. For that, it also features AI-powered focus detection, so you won’t have to face this anymore.

Touchscreen, EVF, and IBIS That Works Hard

The 3-inch touchscreen lets you easily scroll, swipe, and take photos from unusual angles, as it can tilt. The electronic viewfinder is clear and bright. It offers a “Classic Display” mode that resembles the neat appearance of an analog SLR camera.

Also, the 7-stop in-body image stabilization is a great feature. It allows you to take handheld shots in dim lighting without needing a tripod all the time. According to Fujifilm, a new gyro sensor and improved algorithm help maintain stability, even at the corners of your images.

Compact, Connected, and Ready for the Streets

The design of the Fujifilm X-E5 is not only attractive, but it also feels solid. It features physical dials, a comfortable grip, a USB-C port, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and a hot shoe. It can handle UHS-II SD cards, and you can easily add a microphone or flash.

Fujifilm says that it works well with more than 40 X-mount lenses. This gives you plenty of options as you expand your collection.
