As the company is struggling with a major financial loss, it needs a way to generate more revenue. So, Instagram is about to get even more ads, and they’re going to be everywhere.

Famous Hollywood photographer Douglas Kirkland passed away on 2 October. The official announcement of the sad news says that he was at his home in Hollywood Hills, LA, surrounded by his wife, two friends, and their dog.

Quite a lot has been going on at Skylum lately. After announcing a set of Luminar Neo extensions, the company has launched imgmi, its very first mobile editing app.

There are many of us who snap photos on our phones daily and want to touch them up a bit before sharing them on social media. In fact, we’ve seen some folks even do entire photo shoots on their phones. Whichever of these situations you find yourself in, Skylum wants to cover it with imgmi.

Heartbreaking portrait of a woman from Evia wins 2022 Siena International Photo Awards

Last year, Siena International Photo Awards showed us some of the most moving photos we’ve ever seen. The results of the 2022 contest are now out, and as always – they didn’t disappoint.

This year’s overall winner is the photo titled Woman from Evia, shot by Greek photographer Konstantinos Tsakalidis. But other than the overall winner, the contest shares winners and runner-ups across its 11 categories, so there are plenty of stunning photos and videos to admire.

Epson International Pano Awards has announced the winners of its 2022 contest. And just like the images they shared back in April to inspire you, the winning images are equally powerful and gorgeous.

This year, the winner is Jinyi He from China with three entries in the Open awards. His image The Vein is the overall winner, followed by two more breathtaking landscapes.

NFT trading volume drops by a whopping 97% in 2022

It was only a matter of time: non-fungible tokens or NFTs have seen a massive drop in sales since the beginning of 2022. In only nine months, the NFT sales have dropped by a whopping 97%.

The drop in sales alone isn’t the only problem, nor it came to being on its own. As it turns out, a bunch of NFTs has been fake or stolen and many accounts have been hacked, so it’s no wonder that people are rapidly losing interest and trust in digital collectibles.

British ruling blames Instagram and Pinterest for a teen girl’s suicide

After a 14-year-old girl took her own life several years ago, both her parents and the public wondered how big of a role social media might have had in her suicide. According to coroner Andrew Walker: a big one!

Last week, Walker assessed the responsibility of social media in the suicide of yet another teenager. The girl reportedly watched and saved an enormous amount of content related to suicide and self-harm. According to Walker, the content that she liked or saved in the days prior to her death was “so disturbing” that even he found it “almost impossible to watch.”

Meta launches text-to-video generator and it’s giving me nightmares

AI text-to-image generators have been in full swing lately. Even text-to-video has become a thing, now Meta has introduced its own. Just like the rest of these generators, Meta’s Make-A-Video AI model lets you turn textual prompts into short video clips.

Make-A-Video offers three different styles of videos: surreal, realistic, and stylized. And while I still find it impressive that this technology even exists – even the “realistic” videos give me the creeps.
