Google Drive offers unlimited storage to students and alumni

You already know how important it is to back up your files, and cloud storage should be a part of your backup system. If you’re a student or alumni, I’ve got great news for you: you can get unlimited Google Drive storage, for free. I know it sounds too good to be true, but it’s real.
Educational institutions don’t pay for the Google Drive storage anymore thanks to Google for Education. Therefore, if you are a student or have alumni status, and your school uses Google for Education, you may have the right to the free unlimited storage.
As Tommy Feisel of FStoppers writes, all he needed to do was log in to Google using his .edu email address. After this, he had the access to the unlimited cloud storage on Google Drive. For free.
Sadly, I’ve never had the .edu address, so I can’t try this myself. But all of you who have it and whose school or college use Google for Education, maybe you should give it a go. And let us know if it worked.

Yay ?
They’d like to see what you store there. ?

My school dropped alumni email addresses years ago.
My Uni doesn’t allow us to use third party storage.
Been there for years.
Not quite correctly described here. College students and faculty with Google .edu addresses AND a participating college.
If the alumni email also uses google mail and above, then alumni too.
Some highschools and non profits also do this. There is a page google has showing what entities use it but, don’t ask me how to find it.
Some for profits, orgs. and government aggencies also offer it to employees but, what you put there, is out of your control!
Note: Google Drive is not easy to use (for some/many) and should not be considered for serious back up! Use Backblaze or some other service made for backup.
And pay with your privacy….
is that true??? Can they access our contents???
this is very useful for all students because now we have so much information, which is very inconvenient to store on a computer. I’m a student and I really like this idea.
