Adobe Premiere Is Now Available on Android

It looks like a busy September for Adobe. After updating Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, Adobe Premiere mobile is now available on Android. The app launched on iPhone last year and is now available for free on the Google Play Store for Android users.

The feature set is the same as the iOS version: you get a multi-track timeline, frame-accurate editing, 4K export, templates, transitions, and music and assets from Adobe Stock. There’s also Enhance Audio, a one-tap tool that reduces background noise and cleans up voiceovers and interviews. Firefly-powered generative AI features are in there too: Generative Fill, Image-to-Video, and Generate Sound Effects.

A few things worth noting: there are no ads, no watermarks, and you don’t need to log in to use it. Although, if you already are an Adobe user, you have the account anyway. Still, if not, you’re not obliged to create an account or upgrade before you can do anything useful on Premiere Android.

The free version covers the essentials. But if you need additional generative AI credits and storage, they are available as paid upgrades.

Features still coming include Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection, and the ability to hand an edit off to Premiere on desktop. That last one will be the real draw for you if you switch between mobile and desktop depending on where you are.

The app is out now on the Google Play Store. You can download it if your device runs Android 13 or later and has at least 5GB of RAM.
