Amazon uses guy’s photo on their jobs website, but they didn’t hire him

A few years ago, Jordan Guthmann had a job interview at Amazon. He didn’t get the job, life moved on… but then he discovered that Amazon used his photo. And oh the irony – it was on their Talent Acquisition website!

Jordan says that one of his friends texted him to ask why he was on Amazon Talent Acquisition website. When he visited the page and saw the photo, he shared the story on his Twitter account. He explained that “the kind person taking photos asked [him] if she could snap [his] picture” at the interview. He said “why not,” and years later, he found himself on the website for jobs at Amazon. After not getting the job… I love it how he kept the story amusing because it is amusing. He wrote about it in a humorous way, without any bitterness or hate:

Aside from humorous comments, some people were wondering if Jordan got paid or if Amazon had him sign the model release. As he told PetaPixel, he doesn’t even remember if he signed the press release, because the interview was more than three years ago. Still, he says that he holds no ill-will towards the photographer or Amazon.

If Amazon posted Jordan’s image without a model release, he could get him sued. I guess Amazon is aware of that too because they quickly changed the cover image of the Talent Acquisition website, so Jordan’s photo isn’t there anymore. Apparently, he’s not into legally pursuing them, so this only remains a funny story both for him and for us who have seen it.
