This hilarious short film shows alternative uses of your gear during lockdown

The COVID-19 pandemic has left many creatives without work and income. Sadly, this means that some of them even had to sell a part of their gear to make a living until the crisis is over. It’s bitter to think about it, but filmmaker Jeff Hartman decided to fight the bitterness with humor (my kind of person). He created a short film that shows you alternatives uses of your gear if you’re out of work during the pandemic. And it’s one of the funniest videos I’ve seen ever since this coronavirus crisis started.

This pandemic has been exceptionally challenging to the entertainment industry and it’s crews, forcing some of us to reinvent our roles…@rapid.camera #stayathome #quarantine #lockdown #covid19 #motocrane #freefly #panasonic #canon #flowcine #danadolly #cinemilled #cinemarobot #droid #toyota #filmcrew #freelance #ncfilm #filmmaking #bts #smallbusiness #AI #artificialintelligence #autonomous

In the video, Jeff’s automotive camera crane is about to get sold. There’s no work, so there’s no money, but also not much for it to do. But hey, who says you have to use it just to shoot videos? There are so many alternative uses that will make your everyday life easier. I won’t tell you about all of them so I don’t spoil the video, but I’ll just tell you that I had a really good laugh. Jeff had some great ideas, but I also love how he packed them into a story.

Jeff’s video reminded me of “camera gear fitness,” which is another brilliant video full of hilarious ideas. Make sure to check it out, I’m sure it will brighten up your day. And who knows, maybe you’ll even decide not to sell your gear after all.
