When you photograph attractive locations, it’s inevitable to have other people walking into your frame. Sure, you can resolve this with some Photoshop tricks, or try waking up really early and shoot before other tourists arrive. But why bother when you can do it the easy way: just scream at them, really loudly!
In the video above, Icelandic photographer Óli Haukur suggests what you should do when other people casually walk into your frame. You’ve crossed mountains and seas to get there, you brought tons of expensive gear, you planned the shots… And now they just walk into your view as if they own the landscape. Frustrating, isn’t it? Watch the video to see how to resolve this problem quickly, but make sure not to play it in front of your kids, there’s some strong language.
In case you got annoyed, I must tell you that the video is satire, and I personally find it pretty funny. But I do understand how frustrating it is to go through all the prep, journey and effort just to get a bunch of people blocking your view. On some occasions, I believe that it’s okay to tell them off: if they are disrespectful to others, if they break the rules or get themselves and/or others into danger. But even then, keep your cool and don’t be rude.
