Not too long along, we shared an interesting photo series which featured the last meals of death row inmates. It was an enthralling series which got the mind thinking about things it (most likely) would never wander to on it’s own. Now, the same photographer–Henry Hargreaves–has released a similar collection, this time with the photos focusing on the all the rich, delicious meals consumed by who other than James Bond.
Hargreaves calls his latest series, Dying To Eat. He summarizes it, saying:
“Author Ian Flemming wrote for 1950’s Englishman, whose everyday experience of the world was colored by the devastating consequences of war. The 50s post-war man could read Flemming’s Bond books and dream not only of adventure and villains in far-off lands, but an exciting lifestyle of fast cars, beautiful women, finely tailored clothes, and exotic gourmet meals from around the world.
Sadly, these meals were missing from the cinematic adaptations. This is a depiction, direct from Flemming’s books, of what Bond was Dying To Eat.”
Enjoy some of the photos from the series, below, and take a look at the behind the scenes shots Henry was nice enough to send over. You can see more of his work on his website, website, Facebook, and Instagram.
