Bluetti Handsfree Backpacks are on sale for Black Friday 2024

For anyone that shoots on location, one of the biggest issues faced is the lack of power. You just don’t find too many wall outlets in rivers and forests or up mountains. If our camera batteries, smartphone and other electronics run out of juice, it typically means the end of the trip.

The Bluetti Handsfree Series backpacks are designed to overcome this struggle. Available in two sizes, they feature a built-in portable power station for powering and charging your gear in the middle of nowhere. And they’re on sale in a limited-time deal for Black Friday. Plus an extra 5% discount when you use the code DIYPHOTOG01.

Bluetti Handsfree 1 (42L) – $421 $299

The Bluetti Handsfree 1 is the smaller of the two models in the series. But with a holding capacity of 42 litres, it’s certainly not small, either. It’s a very interesting system, allowing you to tailor it for a day’s shoot, a weekend away where you just want to relax, or a several day camp in the woods with all your camera gear.

The backpack is modular. This allows you to arrange things exactly how you need them. The slim portable power station slots into the main back panel with the shoulder straps and then each of the sections you need zips onto the top of that.

As I said, it’s interesting, and you’ll get lots of power to boot. It sports a 268Wh battery, offering up to 300W of output. That’ll probably keep all of your camera batteries, small lights, smartphone and other gear going for a couple of days.

And it still has 42L of holding capacity on top of that for your camera gear, drones and clothes. This backpack is clearly targeted towards creators on the go. This means all kinds of outdoor photography, travel photography, landscape photography, wildlife photography, not to mention social media content creators.

Bluetti Handsfree 2 (60L) – $599 $399

The larger of the two backpacks is the Bluetti Handsfree 2. This boast both a larger 60 litre capacity as well as a bigger storage capacity and output on the battery, too. The 268Wh of storage has been bumped up to 512Wh and its maximum sustained output has risen from 300W to 700W, for longer trips and more demanding charges.

The power stations in both backpacks feature five different ways to get power out of them. There are two USB-A ports as well as two 100W USB-C ports for USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) and other quick charging protocols your smartphone or other devices may use.

There’s also an AC socket (300W for the Handsfree 1, 700W for the Handsfree 2). So, if you’ve got multiple battery chargers that still all run off AC, you can charge all of them from this. And for more modern equipment that charges up over USB, you’ve got plenty of options remaining.

And when you need to charge it back up again, there are two 60W and 100W solar charging options available. So, if you’re away camping and hiking for more than a few days, you’re still able to top up the power – assuming you’re not in Scotland right now.

Price and Availability

During Black Friday, the Bluetti Handsfree 1 is available starting from $299 and the Bluetti Handsfree 2 starts at $399. Remember that this is a time-limited offer for Black Friday, though. They’ll be going back up to full price again after that. So, if you’ve been on the fence, now’s the time to make a decision. remember to use the code DIYPHOTOG01 for an extra 5% off.
