Last month, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards gave us a little preview of its 2020 finalists. And now, the winners are finally here. They gave me all the giggles I needed today, and I’m sure they’ll make your day as well.

I’m glad to see that the overall winner is a photo that was among my favorites. It was taken by Mark Fitzpatrick and it’s titled Terry the Turtle flipping the bird. But it shows more than a turtle flipping the bird. It also perfectly depicts my morning mood before I have food and coffee.

Mark’s image was selected as the best among 7,000 entries from all over the world. He took it while he was swimming with the turtles off Lady Elliot Island in Queensland, Australia. It was the perfect moment when Terry’s flipper was pulling back as he was swimming towards the camera, so it looks like the turtle is indeed flipping Mark the bird.

Other than the overall winner, the contest also recognizes the Affinity Photo People’s Choice Award. The public voted for Roland Kranitz and his super-adorable shot of a singing spermophile titled O Sole Mio! There are also category winners for each of the categories, as well as ten highly commended winners. Take a look at all the winning images below, have a good laugh, and make sure to visit the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards website for more information.
