Godox is getting ready to announce an AD200Pro hybrid strobe

It’s been two years now since Godox released the original AD200 flash. With a swappable head system, it was pretty unique for its time. Since then, Godox has stepped up their game, releasing the AD600 Pro and AD400 Pro strobes with better colour accuracy and super fast recycle times. Now it looks like the AD200 is going to be getting the “Pro” treatment.

A screenshot of a post from Godox posted to Chinese social media site, Weibo clearly states the term “AD200Pro”. After a little digging, it appears to have been shot during WPPI2019, and is an image by Australian Godox ambassador Aries Tao. And multiple independent (very trusted) sources have confirmed to DIYP that a Godox AD200 Pro is on the way.

Godox is showing off a new X2T trigger with easy group control and built-in Bluetooth at WPPI

Many thought that the Godox X1T line of triggers would simply die off once the Godox XPro had been released. But it was not to be. Too many people want that passthrough hotshoe and they’ll never give it up in favour of the XPro, no matter how much more efficient the workflow is.

Godox appears to have listened to this feedback, and is launching the Godox X2T. It’s a new trigger based on the original Godox X1T style design, but with buttons to select specific groups and built-in Bluetooth for smartphone power control. Rob Hall had the chance to have a bit of a play with one at WPPI and grabbed a few photos.

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
