Accsoon’s new CineView SE offers low-latency SDI and HDMI wireless video transmission up to 1200ft

Accsoon has announced its newest video transmitter, the Accsoon CineView SE. It’s an SDI and HDMI wireless transmitter and receiver pair for on-set and on-location monitoring with latency below 50ms. This is around 0.05/sec, which is very impressive at this price point. It’s a dual-band system, operating on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies simultaneously with a maximum range of 1200ft.

Accsoon says the dual-band wireless system “intelligently identifies” interference and combines the two signals together as needed into a complete single stream. They say this is more stable than the frequency hopping technology used by some other devices and eliminates drop-outs and black screens. It seems very similar to the Accsoon CineView HE, announced in April but with the addition of SDI and slightly lower latency.

It looks like it’s not just Zhiyun announcing a new gimbal today as DJI announces two of theirs, the DJI RS 3 and the DJI RS 3 Pro along with the new DJI Transmission system – their first attempt at a completely DJI wireless video viewing and control workflow. DJI says that the “new generation of the Ronin ecosystem allows creators to focus on what’s in front of their camera by simplifying everything connected to it”.

DJI says that the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro bring “landmark improvements to the classic and reliable Ronin series” with the new DJI Transmission system combining “reception, monitoring, control and recording in one”. It sounds a lot like the Zhiyun VC100 MasterEye & TransMount AI combo (more info here) only it’s for DJI’s gimbals and not Zhiyun’s and it’s way more expensive. Of course, it looks a lot more capable, too!

Accsoon, makers of the popular low budget CineEye series video transmitters for watching your camera’s signal on your smartphone or tablet are stepping things up a notch with a dedicated video transmitter and receiver pair that you can hook up to actual monitors. It’s called the CineView HE and it offers transmission distances from an HDMI camera to an HDMI monitor, smartphone, tablet or computer with a range of up to 1200ft.

Accsoon says the CineView HE has less than 60ms of latency making any lag “virtually imperceptible”. It also offers dual-band transmission, sending the signal simultaneously over 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies to help eliminate interference and make it “inherently more stable than its rivals”. You can even connect the receiver to your computer over Type-C USB and use it as a capture device for live streaming.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Hollyland Mars 400S Pro announcement, Vaxis has now announced their new Atom 500 SDI wireless video transmission system (which still supports HDMI, too) and on paper it looks pretty impressive, offering less than 80ms latency and a 500ft range with internal antennas. The new release is an update to the company’s previous Atom 500 HDMI wireless transmitter, which didn’t offer any SDI support.

I’ve been a big fan of Hollyland’s Mars 400S ever since getting one last year and you can read my review on that model here. But now Hollyland has announced the new Mars 400S Pro, with improved latency, the silent fan feature found in the Mars 300 Pro, and new live streaming capabilities straight out of the receiver into software such as OBS.

Hollyland has today announced its new Mars 300 Pro wireless HDMI video transmission system that offers significant improvements over its predecessor, the Mars 300. While it still has the same 300ft transmission range, it has lower latency, weighs less, features a new OLED display, can stream to your smartphone as well as the included receiver and it’s available in three different kit options.

It even offers a few options over the slightly more expensive Hollyland Mars 400S we reviewed a little while ago, such as HDMI passthrough and a receiver that can actually output to two HDMI monitors or capture devices simultaneously.

Hollyland Mars 400S – Amazing quality wireless video at an affordable price

Wireless video transmission used to be extremely expensive. It still can be if you need higher-end kit, but it’s started to come down to much more reasonable prices. One such reasonably priced wireless video transmission is the Hollyland Mars 400S which comes in at only $649 and supports both HDMI and SDI inputs and outputs.

I’ve been using the Mars 400S for a few weeks now, and have found it to be quite useful in situations where I wouldn’t normally be able to stand right next the camera to monitor what it sees while it’s recording. Is it the right system for you? Well, keep reading, and you’ll be able to make that decision for yourself.

The merging of technologies is tricky. Sometimes it succeeds and sometimes it fails miserably. One fantastic idea, though, was to combine the SmallHD Focus 5 monitor with the Teradek Bolt 500 RX. And that idea exists in the form of the SmallHD Focus Bolt 500 RX. We went to visit the SmallHD stand at IBC 2019 and spoke to SmallHD co-founder and CTO, Dale Backus to find out more about it.

I’ll be honest. I’d never heard of Hollyland when they reached out to me and asked if I could have a look at their Mars 300 wireless video transmitter (Amazon | B&H). Will I be keeping my eye out for more stuff from them after having tried read? Read on to find out.

The Mars 300 is a new entry-level wireless video transmitter. So why would you need or use one of these?

Well, there are a few different use cases for wireless video transmitters.
