I always thought stock photography was a bit boring. But then I discovered Zamurović Brothers and changed my mind. They bring playfulness and fun into stock photography, making it creative, artistic, and wonderfully quirky. The brothers kindly shared their work with DIYP, so if you also find stock photos boring: keep reading, and let’s change that opinion!
Bojan and Ivan Zamurović are based in Zrenjanin, Serbia. They have been into photography since they were boys and made their first steps towards commercial photography when they got into wedding photography. They wanted to add art to this genre and continued the same approach when they started shooting stock photos. And they did it pretty successfully, if I may add. Their portfolio is where stock photography meets art, and they have developed a style that’s quite recognizable.
Bojan’s and Ivan’s portfolio is filled with clean, minimalistic images, usually with a pastel color palette. Most of their images are conceptual, making you look twice rather than just glancing over their work. That’s, in my opinion, what makes their work stand out from most stock photos out there.
For this duo, being a stock photographer is the most beautiful job in the world. Many people approached them wanting to learn how to do it and make stock photos that stand out from the crowd. If their work has managed to change your mind so far, you can take their course. It will inspire you and help you plan, shoot, edit and keyword your own creative stock photos. The course is in Serbian, but don’t worry, there are English and Russian subtitles.
Just in case I still haven’t changed your mind about stock photos, take a look at more of Bojan’s and Ivan’s work below. And if you’d like to see even more, make sure to check out their website, Instagram, and Shutterstock portfolio.
