Fujifilm has just released its latest instant camera, the Instax WIDE Evo, a new high-end hybrid instant camera. The camera is designed to work with Instax WIDE format film, which is double the size of Instax Mini film, and offers users an expanded range of creative controls. It will also print images sent via a mobile phone, making it not just an instant camera but a mobile printer, too.
Like the Instax Mini, the Instax WIDE features a black and metallic analogue-inspired design and offers manual controls. Users can select effects via physical dials and print images by manually turning the print crank.

Key Features of the Instax WIDE Evo
Hybrid Instant Camera with LCD Screen and Selective Printing: The WIDE Evo follows the success of the Instax Mini Evo and allows users to preview images on an LCD monitor before selecting which photos to print. It can also function as a smartphone printer, enabling users to print images directly from their mobile devices.

100 Shooting Effects and Degree Control: The camera includes ten lens effects, such as “Magenta” and “Monochrome”, and ten film effects, including “Light Leak” and “Color Gradient.” These can be combined to create up to 100 different shooting effects. Additionally, Fujifilm has introduced a Degree Control function, a first in the Instax series, which allows users to finely adjust effect intensity across 100 levels, providing precise control over light and colour.

New Film Style and Wide Angle Mode: Two additional features enhance the creative potential of the WIDE Evo:
- Wide Angle Mode: This mode captures a broader field of view, making full use of the larger WIDE format film.
- Film Style: Users can frame their images using six different styles to enhance the appearance of Instax prints.

Dedicated App with Social Integration: A companion Instax WIDE Evo app for iOS and Android provides additional functionality. It includes a Discover Feed, where users can view images shared by other WIDE Evo users, along with details on the effects used. The app also allows users to favourite effect combinations and apply them directly to their own camera. The Direct Print function enables smartphone photos to be printed onto Instax WIDE film.

New WIDE Format Film: “Brushed Metallics”
Coinciding with the camera’s release, Fujifilm is introducing a new Instax WIDE film called “Brushed Metallics”. This film features a metallic-like texture and gradient colour design, adding a new aesthetic option for instant prints.
Price and Availability
The Fujifilm Instax WIDE Evo is available to preorder now for $349.99.
