Harvard is putting a 13 module photography course online for free

Four months ago, it was Stanford who made their photography course for free, and now comes Harvard’s turns. Harvard has an online learning platform – Alison – and their photography course has been uploaded in whole and accessible worldwide.
There are 12 modules with an extra module as a bonus, so you can follow on your own pace:

the course is estimated to take 10-15 hours for the average student. If you were wondering, here is the course description:
Digital photography technology is continually changing, however, the principles behind good photography don’t. ALISON’s free online photo course gives you the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and understanding of digital photography including topics such as exposure settings, how to read and use the histogram, how light affects a photograph, how the camera sensor and lenses work, and how to process a photograph using computer software. You will also learn tips and techniques on what not to do when taking a photograph
Between the fact that the current ratings for the course are quite high, and the fact that it is coming from Harvard, it should be a pretty valuable resource.

How is Howard anything to do with Harvard???
This is hardly the first time smh. A little less funny the more it happens.
Proof Read.
Nothing against Howard, but there’s a less lustre associated with them than with Harvard.
This is just the author running a ruse as a test to see how many viewers catch the error. Really, Harvard/Howard… done on purpose, nobody is that stupid.
Oh score, thanks!!

It looks like it really is from Harvard. Where the graphic heading up this article came from is anyone’s guess.
Kudo’s to HenryH, he got it. The mistake was in the selection of the school emblem for the graphic; one might assume it is diyp’s construction.
Alison is based in Ireland. Is that how Harvard operates now?
https://petapixel.com/2017/01/14/take-harvards-free-online-12-module-digital-photo-course/ mention Harvard is not affiliated with Allison.
Harvard has its own sites : http://digitalphotography.exposed/

The intention is great and shouldn’t be shot on the basis that some guy didn’t do his research…

I actually started it just this week and so far it’s great. I’m on module 3. It is slightly dated and I had already read reviews regarding that particularly as it relates to editing apps but it’s otherwise very practical and useful particularly if you are just getting your feet wet. The basics still apply, the breakdown of compression of files and jpg vs png vs. gif etc was particularly interesting and the instructor is great. I plan to complete it or watch as much as I can before its taken down.
BTW, Alison did post a message earlier in the week saying the course would be removed by February 15th but one can still access for FREE. I’m literally watching now and hoping to complete before taken down.
Bad timing…..got the email this afternoon, clicked on the link to the Alison course, signed up, signed in, and found that the course has been withdrawn (I didn’t notice Clement Renaut’s note below until after trying to enroll).
I just completed this course with Alison.
Great, we have a culture that doesn’t want to pay for photographers, and now we don’t have to pay for photography teachers…Harvard is a hedge fund that owns a university
Why am I having trouble finding which one this is on Alison’s website ?
