The World Photography Organisation has revealed the National Award winners for the Sony World Photography Awards (SWPA) 2022. This year, 61 countries took part in the contest – and I just can’t decide which photo I like most!
World Photography Organisation and Sony set up the National Awards program to support local photographic communities around the world. This year, a staggering number of over 340,000 images from 211 territories were submitted to the Sony World Photography Awards 2022. Additionally, over 170,000 were entered into the Open competition, and the National Awards winner was selected from this batch.
New to this year’s Awards is the Latin America National Awards initiative. It shines a spotlight on the region’s vibrant and varied photographic community. It celebrates talents from across Central America, South America, and Mexico, rewarding first, second and third place and a shortlist of six photographers.
All National Award winners receive Sony digital imaging equipment and will be included in the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition and book. Enjoy a selection of these wonderful images below (man, it was a tough choice), and make sure to visit SWPA’s website for more information.
