Have you ever fantasized about leaving the Earth and orbiting around the Moon? I sure have, especially during this weird time on Earth. Well, Seán Doran will sort of make your dreams come true. In this four-hour video, he takes you on a journey around the Moon in real-time.
When creating his work, Seán uses material from NASA and JAXA. For this video, he used footage from JAXA / NHK Kaguya Orbiter archive. He denoised it, repaired it, graded it, and retimed for this film that provides you with four hours of a calming virtual trip around the Moon.
Seán previously created other stunning films from the NASA and JAXA images and videos. For example, take a look at the view of the comet Neowise from the ISS. Or this hypnotizing trip around Jupiter.
Now, I personally don’t see a scenario in which I would watch the entire four hours of the film. But I do have in mind what I’d do with 43 minutes of it. On the days when I’m tired of everything, I will play this video with The Dark Side of the Moon in the background. I think it could make the Weltschmerz more bearable.
