There are plenty of great wildlife photographers who take awe-inspiring and interesting shots. But when these animals do funny things and take silly poses: it adds a whole new level to wildlife photography.

The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is centered on the photos of animals that are sure to improve your day. The finalists of the 2018 contest have just been announced, and these will definitely brighten up your mood.

The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards were founded by Tanzania-based wildlife photographers and enthusiasts Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson-Hicks. And although it revolves around funny photos, the cause of the contest is a more serious matter. Its primary focus is the importance of conserving our planet’s beautiful wildlife. But it lets us enjoy the hilarious and heart-warming photos at the same time, too.

The founders of the contest will decide on the winners of each category, along with eight other judges. All of the photos are judged on their content and quality, but also on the humor, of course.

The overall winner will be named the 2018 Comedy Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He or she will win a handmade trophy from the Wonder Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a one-week safari with Alex Walker’s Serian. In addition to these, this year’s competition includes another award. Affinity Photo has decided to give one lucky winner a brand new iPad, and you can vote for your favorite image via this link. But I warn you – not an easy choice is ahead of you!

Finally, if you just can’t get enough of these silly animals and you like books, you will soon be able to get a copy of Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullan’s Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards Vol. 2 It will be published in hardback on 4 October 2018, and you can get it for £9.99.

And now I leave you to enjoy more of these goofy wildlife photos. And I dare you not to smile!
