DxO has announced another big addition to its collection of Optics Modules. These are used in DxO’s raw processing software, including DxO PhotoLab, PureRaw, FilmPack and Viewpoint, to correct for lens distortion, chromatic aberration and other issues. This new update brings support for a number of new camera and lens combos, including the recently released Canon EOS R8 (buy here) and Canon EOS R50 (buy here) mirrorless cameras.
The total number of camera and lens combinations now contained within DxO’s Optics Modules database is over 82,000. This data has been collected over the last 20 years to bring the best possible optics correction available to their software. As well as correcting for distortion, they also fix chromatic aberration, and vignetting as well as sharpness correction for soft lenses.
