2022 was the year when many of us regained our lives. COVID has become a thing we live with; for many, life regained its pre-covid routines. I thought it would be interesting to see the topics we all engaged with. Interestingly, there is a mix of gear, wildlife, and even AI.

For me, one of the more interesting points when going over the data was how it was hard to predict which topics would create a discussion. If you can find a common thread among all those posts, I would love to hear. I could not find one.

They do say never to work with animals. But when you do, you can be sure to have a story or two to tell afterward. Here at DIYP, we love wildlife and animal photography-related stories. And 2022 had a lot of good ones. So many it was tough to narrow it down.

We’ve also had more than our fair share of bear stories, almost enough, in fact, to have our own top 10 bear stories of 2022. But my editor told me not to be so silly. So here is my rundown of our best wildlife stories of 2022 (with a good few bears thrown in for good measure!)

2022 was a year to remember. For most of us, it was the year when COVID got under control, and we regained our lives back.

It was also an interesting year for the photo-video industry. The community definitely has an interest in underwater photography (3/10 stories), astrophotography (2/10), and general photo-video news stories. we did not actually ask the entire community to vote on the thousands of stories we posted during 2022, but rather we looked at which posts gathered the most traffic.

And so, without any further ado, here are the results.

It’s that time of the year, my friends. We’re filling up on eggnog, turkey, and Christmas pudding (or rakija, sarma, and vanilice here in Serbia), doing the last-minute shopping, and arguing with family at the dinner table. But other than that, we’re also summing up the year that’s soon to be behind us. And here at DIYP, we look back at our favorite posts from the past year.

2022 was also huge for AI technology. This doesn’t only include text-to-image generators and their wide availability – but everything that people have created with them, as well as some potential issues AI-generated content might bring. So, we decided to dedicate this recap to top ten AI-related stories of the year that’s soon to be behind us.
