Techart has announced their new TZM-02 Leica M lens to Nikon Z mirrorless camera autofocus adapter. The TZM-02, naturally, replaces the TZM-01 announced in 2020 in the Techart lineup and brings it in line with the company’s LMEA9 Leica M to Sony E lens adapter released a few months ago. This means it sees a motor upgrade, switching from a single motor to an arrangement of four smaller motors.

Combined, these four motors provide more power, speed and accuracy than its predecessor. This means it performs better with smaller lenses but also handles larger lenses. Why Leica M, though? Well, Leica M cameras are manual focus. You can also easily adapt pretty much every manual focus lens type out there – M42, Pentax K, Canon FD, etc. – to Leica M, so you’ll be able to autofocus with just about anything.

Techart announced its initial Leica M to Sony E mount adapter way back at the beginning of 2016. Now, almost seven years later, they’ve announced the new Techart LM-EA9, the second generation of their Leica M to Sony E autofocus adapter. It comes with a sleeker design and features four built-in small, lightweight servo motors that offer more power and faster autofocus operation than its predecessor.

This motor-driven adapter means that you can use all those old Leica M manual focus lenses on your Sony E mount cameras with full autofocus capability. And because it’s a Leica M mount, you can adapt it to pretty much any other kind of old lens mount format, such as Nikon F, M42 or Pentax K, opening up a whole world of lens options.

Techart seems to be driven by letting photographers put as many different types of lenses on their cameras as possible, and right now they’re focusing on Z mount. After releasing the Sony E lens to Nikon Z mount adapter a few months ago, they’ve taken aim towards the Canon EF lenses, and have just announced their new TZC-01 adapter, which allows you to mount those Canon EF lenses onto the Nikon Z cameras.

Techart has just announced the TZE-01. It’s the world’s first autofocus Sony E to Nikon Z mount lens adapter. The Nikon Z mirrorless cameras have a 2mm shorter flange distance than Sony’s EF mount. Techart has managed to not only take advantage of this tiny space to create what appears to be a fairly solid looking adapter, but they’ve also fit a CPU in there.
