Have you ever wondered how you can create high-quality product shots using just one speed light? Dustin Dolby from Workphlo show us how to do just that in his latest video, and it is really very simple. I’m a huge fan of using minimal gear if you can, and I love to use just one light source when possible. No tripod? No problem – A lazy approach to overhead photography
Living on the 9th floor in my apartment, anything that gets left in the car, stays in the car. Even if I later “suddenly” remember that I need it while I am at home. Having the enormous responsibility of my project 365, this is usually bad news for me. I knew that I was going to take a picture of one of my guitars because I had planned to. This $8 IKEA table hack produces killer product shots
Here is a nice concept for product photography. If you are familiar with table-top, you will love this table-bottom concept.
This one is coming from Caleb Pike of DSLR Video Shooter, and is extremely clever. Unlike the usual light tents which use a cut out box, Caleb uses the space under a simple, $8 IKEA LACK table.
How I shot a photo of an octopus hogging an action figure – A lighting breakdown
With the heat of August, I thought that nothing will beat making a small beach set photo in the chill studio. In this product shot, I am going to use three lights to simulate outdoor sunlight for a small scale product octopus attack shot.
I am going to use a Miggo Splat , a small stand which kinda looks like a 5 armed octopus. Given this similarity I decided to make a light hearted photo using an action figure I own.
