SXSW pulls the plug for the first time in 34 years over COVID-19 fears

It seems Coronavirus has taken another one. The SXSW Festival has just announced that they are canceling the convention. SXSW is a major event hosting everything from tech, to music, to films. The Austin based festival officially canceled their annual event for the first time in 34 years, as they shared on Twitter.

Movie Depicts The Battle Of Keeping Photography Legal In Afghanistan & Why Some Worry It Won’t Last

SXSW season is one of my favorite times of the year. Ten days packed full of all the things I love. Film week has always been of particular interest to me, and just because I won’t be able to physically make it to any of this year’s festivities, doesn’t mean I’m not keeping tabs on what I’m missing out on. As I suspected, there’s quite a few awesome things I’m sad not to be experiencing first hand. One of them is a documentary film called, Frame By Frame, that’s making it’s premier at the festival on March 14th.

FRAME BY FRAME is a feature-length documentary that follows four Afghan photojournalists navigating a young and dangerous media landscape. Through cinema verité, powerful photojournalism, and never-before-seen archival footage shot in secret during the Taliban, the film reveals a struggle in overcoming the odds to capture the truth.

He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic: from diyphotography.netDunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia.
