The Christmas Wish project invites to you use photography and help children who will spend Christmas in hospital

When Karen Alsop started The Christmas Wish Project, she wanted to bring the Christmas spirit to children’s hospital beds around Australia. Along with many volunteers, this photographer and digital artist has brought smiles back on the faces of many sick children. The project has been growing every year, it went global in 2018 – and now you can join it, too.

Karen and her team are running workshops around Australia to train up new volunteers for future projects. But no matter where you live, you can join the project to edit photos and help create magic for children who will spend their Christmas in the hospital.

Artymate Photoshop plugin animates your photos into cinemagraphs

Cinemagraphs can add a new dimension to your photography work. While they’re usually created from videos, there’s now a Photoshop plugin named Artymate which lets you create cinemagraphs from still images. It is really easy to use and can give you great results.

Photographer creates dreamlike scenes to bring Christmas spirit to a children’s hospital

Christmas is a holiday that brings people joy and happiness and puts them in festive mood. Most of us spend time at home with our families, sharing love and joyful moments. And it’s probably kids who enjoy this holiday the most, because there are presents waiting for them under the tree.

Unfortunately, not all children are able to spend Christmas at home with their families. Many of them are spending holidays in hospital bed, scared and uncertain what will happen tomorrow. For them and their families, every day is a struggle, and Christmas is no exception. But a kind-hearted Australian photographer decided to make this holiday season special for the young ones who spend it in hospital.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
