Selfies are practically everywhere, and it’s difficult to avoid them. Well, there’s now a photo-sharing platform that’s built literally for avoiding selfies. Poparazzi bans this kind of photos and encourages you and your friends to take photos of each other instead. In fact, your whole account is created by the people who take photos of you!

Rankin uses self-portraits to fight against selfies – and he wants you to participate

British photographer and director Rankin has already lobbied against selfies in a few of his projects (Selfie Harm, for example). In his latest project titled Selfie Control, the artist wants you to join him. He is fighting against selfies and is inciting all creatives to collaborate with him to create their own self-portraits.

We already know selfies often go hand in hand with recklessness and stupidity. Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama felt this on her own skin. Only a few days after opening her exhibition, one of her highly-valued pumpkin sculptures was damaged – because of a selfie.

You’re More Likely To Die While Taking A Selfie Than You Are From A Shark Attack

I have to say, if I die from a freak accident, I hope it involves a shark attack rather than taking a selfie. If you feel similarly, the odds may be stacked against you. In an article posted today in the Telegraph, it was revealed that more people have died from a selfie gone wrong than have died from shark attacks this year.
