Meike has announced a new 25mm f/0.95 lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It’s a manual focus lens, which means it’s coming in Canon RF mount as well as Canon EF-M, Fuji X, Nikon Z, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds. This isn’t the first 25mm f/0.95 lens on the market, but it is Meike’s first at this focal length and aperture, which should keep Meike lens fans happy.

Being an APS-C lens, it offers a field of view similar to 37.5mm on full-frame. When used on MFT cameras, it’s equivalent to 50mm on full-frame. It has a 13-blade aperture for as round a bokeh as possible with 11 elements in 9 groups and a minimum focus distance of only 25cm. The Sony E mount version has already been released, with the others coming later in December.

Techart announced its initial Leica M to Sony E mount adapter way back at the beginning of 2016. Now, almost seven years later, they’ve announced the new Techart LM-EA9, the second generation of their Leica M to Sony E autofocus adapter. It comes with a sleeker design and features four built-in small, lightweight servo motors that offer more power and faster autofocus operation than its predecessor.

This motor-driven adapter means that you can use all those old Leica M manual focus lenses on your Sony E mount cameras with full autofocus capability. And because it’s a Leica M mount, you can adapt it to pretty much any other kind of old lens mount format, such as Nikon F, M42 or Pentax K, opening up a whole world of lens options.

It looks like Tokina’s getting ready to announce a new 11-18mm f/2.8 lens for Sony APS-C E mount cameras. No specs have been released or leaked yet other than the clues in the name of the lens. So, it features an 11-18mm focal length with a maximum f/2.8 constant aperture and it’s designed for Sony’s APS-C E mount cameras.

We can also see from the photos that it’s a pretty compact lens and that there’s a micro USB port on the rear lens mount. Sony Alpha Rumours believes the filter size may be 67mm, which looks about right. Whatever its specs, while Tokina has made plenty of ultra-wide-angle autofocus zoom lenses for APS-C DSLRs in the past, this will be their first for Sony APS-C E mount cameras.

Last year, Megadap released ETZ-11, an adapter that lets you mount Sony E lenses to a Nikon Z body. This is a handy piece of gear if you’ve changed the mirrorless body you use so you don’t have to change all of your lenses as well.

And now, here’s the new and improved version of the adapter. The ETZ21 is here, allowing you to mount your Sony lenses to a Nikon body. The company offers plenty of improvements, so let’s see what’s new in the second generation of this adapter from Megadap.

7Artisans has released their new 25mm f/0.95 manual focus lens for APS-C mirrorless and Micro Four Thirds. The lens was first teased in September, but now it’s finally official, available and all of the specs are published. The lens is designed specifically for mirrorless cameras, being available on Sony E, Fuji X and Nikon Z APS-C mount options, as well as MFT.

That nice wide f/0.95 maximum aperture will let in a lot of light and allow for some pretty shallow depth of field, despite being made for APS-C and MFT cameras. On APS-C it offers a field of view equivalent to about 37.5mm on full-frame and on Micro Four Thirds it’s about a 50mm full-frame equivalent field of view.

One of the best things that’s come out of the last few years of everybody switching to mirrorless and there being so many different mounts out there is the plethora of adapters that keep being released – with varying degrees of capability. We’ve got straight through manual adapters, speed boosters, autofocus adapters, tilt-shift adapters and all sorts.

One relative newcomer to the adapter space is Megadap. who released the MTZ-11 Leica M to Nikon Z autofocus adapter last year. Well, now they’re back with the much more useful Megadap ETZ-11; an adapter that lets you mount Sony E mount lenses on full-frame and APS-C Nikon Z bodies with full auto capabilities.

Initially launched at the end of 2019 for Leica M mount, TTArtisan has now released two new mount versions of its 21mm f/1.5 full-frame wide-angle lens. No longer do you need to use adapters to fit the Leica M mount lens onto your Sony or Nikon mirrorless camera. It’s now available in both Sony E and Nikon Z mount variety.

Like its Leica M version, the two new Sony E and Nikon Z versions are both full-frame manual focus lenses, containing 13 elements in 11 groups and a 10-blade diaphragm offering a wide f/1.5 aperture. Unlike the Leica M version, though, these both come in at a little under $250, whereas the Leica version is still $429.

Cosina has announced three new Voigtlander 35mm f/2 lenses. One of them is the Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II VM for Leica M, available in Black or Silver and the other two are Leica M and Sony E mount versions of the Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2 Aspherical VM.

The horrendously named Voigtlander Ultron Vintage Line 35mm F2 Aspherical Type II VM (we’ll just call it Ultron 2 from here on out) is an update to the existing Ultron 35mm F2 Aspherical lens. It’s designed to be small and compact, which is the opposite of the Apo-Lanthar 35mm F2, which seems to strive for image quality above all else.

Pergear has been going a bit nuts lately on the low-budget lenses. It was only in March that they released their 35mm f/1.6 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses with the 7.5mm f/2.8 fisheye just last month. Now, they’ve sent one fo their existing focal lengths into overdrive and announced the new Pergear 35mm f/1.2 manual focus lens.

Designed for Micro Four Thirds and APS-C mirrorless cameras, it’s available in MFT, Nikon Z, Canon EF-M, Fuji X and Sony E mounts. The best bit? It’s only $109.

The Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 for Sony E Mount can become an f/1.6 lens with just a simple firmware update

The Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 lens has started to become quite a popular lens choice for Sony E mount shooters due to its decent level of performance vs its fairly low $399 price tag (compared to the $600 Sony). It’s also available in Fuji X flavour, too. But can this lens go even faster than f/1.8? Yeah, apparently.

The video above by Stefan Malloch was actually posted back in April, but only just now seems to have gained any real traction, but it turns out you can update the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 lens to f/1.6, giving you an extra third of a stop, rounder bokeh and a slightly (barely noticeable, really) shallower depth of field, with just a simple firmware update.
