It’s nothing new for Meta to enrich Instagram with features picked up from other popular apps. But here’s an unusual claim: Instagram’s next new feature could come from, believe it or not, MySpace.

Mobile developer and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi recently discovered a cool new feature that might be coming to Instagram. Well, it’s new for Instagram, but it’s been out there a while – the app will soon let you add a song to your profile.

Camera shutter sounds are photographers’ ASMR and they can be oddly satisfying. But have you ever thought about creating a song using these recognizable clicks?

Folks at MIOPS have created a camera symphony in the literal sense of the word. Teaming up with a sound artist, MIOPS recently published a song that was composed and played using the shutter clicks of various cameras.

If you’re a photographer, chances are people have asked you to take photos of them. No, not for the full price of your service, because “you’re too expensive.” Or even better, they want it done “for exposure,” or because you’re friends and “you own that big fancy camera.”

Well, the next time this happens, we have a song for you. It was written and performed by Laura Jane Barnes (Woah Dude) of Simply Crochet, and it’s meant for all artists and creatives selling either their work or their skills.

This hilarious musical parody describes Panasonic autofocus pretty accurately

As somebody who owns five Panasonic cameras specifically for shooting video, I’ve learned to never rely on the autofocus from any of them and just go manual focus pretty much full time. It’s a lesson that many Panasonic video shooters learn quite early on. For some reason, Panasonic just really never seems to bring it home when it comes to video autofocus. Even with their newer full-frame S models.

It’s something that Kasey at Camera Conspiracies has definitely noticed, and spoken about at length across multiple videos. And now he’s attempted to quantify the situation in this beautifully hilarious song. Perhaps not surprisingly, it’s called “The Panasonic Autofocus Song” and it’s interspersed with clips where Panasonic’s autofocus absolutely fails to do its job.

Sony has now officially announced its tiny trio of compact full-frame E mount primes. The set is comprised of FE 24mm f/2.8, 40mm f/2.5 and 50mm f/2.5 G lenses, although they’re probably not quite as inexpensive as you might have been expecting.

The lenses are priced at $599 each for all three 24mm, 40mm and 50mm focal lengths – which, given their relatively slow apertures, doesn’t sound all that great, but their compact size is definitely very attractive.

Whenever someone asks me what inspires me as a photographer, one of the answers is always music. I love it when different forms of arts intertwine, and I know many photographers who are inspired by music just like I am.

But it appears that photography inspires musicians as well. Some of them take photos, and others write songs about it. I already wrote about great musicians who are also great photographers (twice). And today, I bring you my top ten songs about photography, photographers, or photos. Turn up the volume and enjoy this mashup of photography and music!
