ON1 Software has today announced ON1 Photo RAW 2019 with an “all-new photo editing experience”. They say it features a new streamlined more elegant workflow with new features and software tech. It finally has a non-destructive workflow for layers, focus stacking, and sees some digital asset management updates.
Open source Lightroom alternative Darktable is now available for Windows
To use their own words, “Hell froze over”. Yes, that’s right, the open source raw processor Darktable has finally been ported over to Windows. And they intend to support it fully in the future. There are still a few features missing, like lack of printing support, and you need special drivers for tethering, but it’s here and it’s usable.
ON1 Photo RAW, the first new RAW processor in a decade
ON1 is a name that seems to be practically a household name these days, and ON1 Photo has become an essential tool in the post processing workflow to many photographers, but one thing it’s lacked is a quality RAW processor.
Now that’s set to change with ON1 Photo RAW, which they’re describing as “the first all-new RAW processor and non-destructive photo editor to be released in more than a decade”. So, if you’re sick of the current options and want something new and fresh, here you go!
