Create dynamic animal portraits with food-grade coloured powder

How do you make agility dogs looks even more awesome? You add a dramatic coloured powder of course! DIYP took a look at these amazing images taken by UK photographer Kit Fanner and found out exactly how he shot them.

Before we get any further it is worth noting that these dogs are highly trained and the powder was food grade and placed along the rear of the dog’s back. At no point were the dogs put at any risk.

Thursday, September 29, 2016, it is 10:00 am and I have a meeting at Boulogne in the office of the White Dog agency. Everything starts with a good coffee and an announcement… “We are going to realize the new McPlace internal communication campaign for McDonalds”. While the day before I was still eating a Royal Cheese innocently, I am informed that we are going to make together a small step in the McDonald’s history.

The objective of this campaign is to reward McDonald’s employees by offering them an unique photography experience. The agency wishes that the dynamism of the company and its multicultural richness are reflected in these portraits. Then we imagine an original concept based on colored powder, like the powders used in Indian festivals.

We’re used to seeing The Slow Mo Guys impress us with some pretty amazing things. They make even the mundane look amazing, and show us things in completely new ways. This, though, has to be one of their most beautiful videos ever.

Back in 2014, they exploded a car airbag at 2500fps and it looked very cool. Recently, though, they decided to up the ante with 25 of the things. Not only that, they turned each one into an incredible powder paint cannon. With each going off in sequence, it produces the most spectacular rainbow cloud flying through the air.

Fantastical Photo Series Illustrates Dancers Gracefully Moving Through Clouds Of Powder

When one thinks of coffee creamer, the first thing that comes to mind probably isn’t amazing photography. Until now. When Jeffrey Vanhoutte and his advertising agency, Norvell Jefferson, was contacted by Friesland Campina Kievit to create photographs for an upcoming ad campaign, Vanhoutte took the powdered milk and beautifully incorporated it into his idea for the shoot.

In the series of photographs, Vanhoutte is able to freeze time as an ever-so-elegant dancer performs stunning movements amidst powdery explosions of creamer. Vanhoutte and his team used a studio full of lighting in conjunction with high speed cameras to film the entire process.[Read More…]
