Megan Rion of Imagine That Photography was out in the woods photographing a one-month-old baby when a deer suddenly appeared.

Megan told DIYP that this was not the first lucky customer to receive a surprise visit by this very deer, but this was the first time the deer appeared for a baby shoot.

Future photographers of this baby will have a hard time beating what is probably the best photo he’ll ever get.

Most often, photo-bombers are those annoying, inebriated  trolls lurking in the shadows at parties or on the street.  But, every now and then, they come in the form of an innocent and hilarious child.

Knoxville-based photographer Leah Bullard was shooting the wedding of clients Michelle and Anthony when she asked the bride and groom to kiss.  It was at the moment that Michelle’s four-year-old daughter, Anderson, decided to steal the show and, with arm wrapped around his neck, plant a kiss firmly on the ring bearer’s lips.

The birth of internet slang is fascinating stuff, I’m sure most of you will recall the hoopla that flooded the web when the word “selfie” became official when it was named as word of the year by Oxford Dictionaries. Soon after that, Merriam-Webster decided to induct it into it’s dictionaries, too. It had a lot of people wondering, “Who makes these words up?”

Though most of us wouldn’t give the thought too much of our time, the dedicated folks over at Hopes & Fears took that simple question and went one step further. They wanted to know how new words, such as the ever increasing dialect of internet slang, are incorporated into sign language. To find out how new slang words entered into American Sign Language (ASL), Hopes & Fears got in touch with Bill Vicars, a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (HH) man who runs Lifeprint–an educational website devoted to helping people learn ASL.[Read More…]

There’s some pretty interesting and bizarre stock photography floating around the Internets and we’ve also undoubtedly seen some pretty clever uses for it. But, The Stock Photobomber (Matt Vescovo) may have just stole the show with his tongue in cheek series of Photoshopped stock images.

After painstakingly looking at about 845,742,923,012 stock photos during his 20-year long career as an art director in advertising, he’s come up with a way to make looking at boring, unrealistic stock images a whole lot more fun.

“I find that when I look at stock photos, I experience the same uncomfortable feeling I have when my bank teller asks me with a forced smile, how my morning is going or when I eat “Chick’n” or see an interview with Tom Cruise. It’s not simply that my teller’s greeting, the vegan meat substitute and the celebrity scientologist are fake, it’s how hard they pretend that they’re not…”

A California lawyer, Svitlana Sangary, is facing legal trouble of her own after she was caught posting fake photos to her business website. Sangary added herself to dozens of photos, making the images appear as though she were personal acquaintances of different celebrities and politicians. The California Bar Association is now suggesting to the Supmreme Court that Sangary’s license be suspend for 6 months, followed by a 2 1/2 year probation period.

In her response to the disciplinary charges, Sangray sent the court a mini-novel which the courts called a “16-page soliloquy with little to no rational connection to the charges.” According to CNN, inside those 16 pages of  irrational response, Sangray attached a copy of an email she received which was addressed from President Obama (with whom she “posed” with for one of her photos) asking her to donate “$3 or more” to help his political campaign. [Read More…]

With all these cute animals becoming really curious about GoPros, I’m starting to think capturing quirky footage of our inquisitive animals friends is like shooting fish in a barrel. Not that I’m complaining, could you imagine what an awful and boring place the internet would be without pictures of animals photo bombing stuff? Personally, I wouldn’t want to be part of an internet that didn’t include this clip of an adorable marmot licking a GoPro it came across in Glacier National Park.

Like a lot surfers, Matthew Stanley uses a GoPro to capture his surf sessions so he can relive the memory on dry land. The sessions aren’t all remarkable, but every once in a while the surfer has an exceptionally notable day. Take, for example, this past Sunday when Matthew Stanley and Andrew Flounders had a surprise visit in the UK from a seal who clearly wanted to show off for the GoPro.
