NASA Mars helicopter captures images of its own crashed landing gear

NASA’s Ingenuity is the first free-flying helicopter on another planet, and if you’re into drone photography, it’s providing views that are literally out of this world.

Some of the images taken include views of the parachute and backshell that propelled the craft to Mars in the first place. They look reminiscent of some low-budget sci-fi film, but for the conspiracy theorists out there, are entirely real.

We’ve seen many remarkable photos and videos of the solar eclipse. But have you ever seen what it looks like from Mars? Well, NASA’s Perseverance rover captured a video of it, and absolutely stunning.

Perseverance shot a video of Phobos, one of Mars’ two moons, as it was eclipsing the sun. And according to NASA, this is the best video of the subject that’s been captured so far.

2021 is coming to an end and we’re all recapping it. One of the major events of this insane year sure was the Perseverance rover’s landing on Mars. NASA’s rover returned quite a few photos during the current year, and it recently shared the ones that the community liked most.

It’s already been six months since NASA’s Perseverance rover landed on Mars and shared its first photo with the Earthlings. Boy does time fly! Since then, the rover has taken nearly 128,000 photos and counting. To honor the six-month anniversary of the landing and all those images, Google has published a cute and amusing video. It imagines what it would be like if Perseverance used Google Photos to look back on its memories from the past six months.
