You know how, some people, they just don’t have that filter between their brain and their mouth? Know any photographers like that? Well, if you’ve ever thought what that might be like in a real shoot, wonder no more. Canadian comedian Lilly Singh has put her own version together in this two and a half minute long video.

Tesla Roadster in space has inspired hilarious photo-manipulations. Here are some of them

The launch of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy has caused plenty of reactions all over the world. The epic launch has made many of us stand in awe and the photos gave us goosebumps. But, just like all major events, this one has also made many people inspired for creating memes and parodies. My Facebook feed has been flooded with hilarious photo manipulations today, and they’re mainly Slavic (which in my opinion makes them even funnier). I’ve decided to share a couple of them with you, and I hope to bring a smile to your face.

When Photoshop goes way too far… (NSFW)

There are so many Photoshop horror stories out there from badly done HDR and selective colour to terribly “smoothed” skin in portraits. But none of them go quite so far as this short Photoshop horror film from Crypt Monsters.

It begins with a somewhat creepy photographer wrapping up a photoshoot with an attractive model who’s obviously quite nervous. He then loads up one of the images into Photoshop and starts to manipulate it, with some pretty severe consequences.

This video is a perfect parody of wedding guests taking photos

We’ve seen a lot of rants about wedding guests taking photos with their phones. They not only get in the way of professional photographers, but also the marrying couples aren’t happy to see a bunch of phones instead of their guests’ faces. SLF Weddings made a fantastic video about this named Unplugged. And rather than being a rant, it’s a parody calling out on these guests in a pretty funny way.

The video doesn’t only mention the guests who get in the photographer’s way with their phones. It doesn’t spare the photographer guest “who came to take some shots for his portfolio,” the auntie with a DSLR and a pop-up flash, or the uncle who takes photos with an iPad. If you are a wedding photographer (or you had your wedding in the past decade or so) – I think you’ll love this.

Have you ever wondered how us, regular people would look in a High End fashion shoot or on the cover of Vogue? French stylist Nathalie Croquet and photographer Daniel Schweizer collaborated on SPOOF, a project to answer just this question.

Nathalie aims to poke some holes at our modern trained brains who look at fashion and advertising imagery as an aspiration of perfection. She posed in front of a camera styled and set up exactly as the models we are all used to see on magazines.

‘The Drone’ is a Parody Trailer That Will Make You Lock Up Your Drone and Throw Away the Key

A vast segment of the general public and the media might consider drones to be dangerous, privacy-invading-little-buggers, but any drone owner knows that they are what their operator makes of them.

A drone can’t be blamed for flying onto the Japanese Prime Minister’s roof or over the White House fence. It won’t randomly turn on its camera and spy on you or follow you around the house when you’re not paying attention. It probably won’t kill your dog, either. Then again, maybe your drone has been doing these things all along and you just haven’t noticed it yet. (OK, you’d probably notice the dead dog, but the rest…)

“Don’t you hate it when drones become sentient?,” asked Jordan Rubin, the director, producer and one of the writers behind this awesome movie trailer when he shared it on Facebook.

Watch the trailer below; just make sure your drone isn’t watching it with you.

Clever Parody Mocks Apple’s Brag Campaign By Displaying Photos Also Shot On iPhone 6

Those Apple advertisements featuring gorgeous photos and a simple line of text which shares the photographer’s name along with “Shot on iPhone 6” are starting to pop up everywhere, subtly leading people to believe all they really need to start taking better cell phone shots is an iPhone upgrade. After Apple plastered the ads all over San Franscisco, two local graphic designers decided to instill a little more truth into the viral ad campaign.

They scoured the internet for photos which were also taken on an iPhone 6 that are, perhaps, more typical of shots people usually take with their iPhones. You know, like naked bathroom selfies. The two used the photos they found to make their own set of “Shot On iPhone 6” posters and took to the streets to hang their masterpieces up alongside authentic Apple ads for a cheeky little side by side comparison. They named the parody Also Shot On iPhone 6, gave it’s own Tumblr, and watched as the city of San Francisco scrambled to take their ingenious posters down.[Read More…]

Tony Northrup and his wife, Chelsea shared this gem with us on their Facebook page today, and I’m pretty sure every wildlife photographer who has ever made the mistake of bringing a non-photographer with them on a photo adventure will really appreciate it.

“Did you ever get your pictures in National Geographic? [No] That’s too bad, my uncle did once.”

Fans of the cult classic internet cartoon, Homestar Runner were delighted to discover the creators have posted a new episode after having been on a long hiatus. The cartoon, known for its pure randomness and quirky flash animation, held true to its roots, this time with a hilarious rap video parody that pokes fun at over used fisheye shots.

The video is part “tutorial” with verses like “Put the camera on the ground and aim it up // make my kicks look huge and my crew look tough” and partially “behind the scenes” footage that will have you nodding and rapping along with the Strongbad posse…”Once you use the fisheye you just can’t stop // it used to be expensive, but then the price dropped.”[Read More…]
