If you ask me, animals who steal cameras are always fun to watch. We’ve seen some hilarious encounters of mammals and birds with GoPros, and the funny video we’re about to share with you today took place in the sea. It shows a curious little octopus persistently trying to steal a diver’s GoPro. And it looks like the animal liked it a lot!
Now that digital imaging sensors are starting to become more freely available to the masses, all kinds of open source projects have been popping up that use them. Most of them are typically fairly limited to things like the Raspberry Pi or development boards like the Arduino and ESP32.
But now, there is a new and pretty serious looking open source camera out there. It’s called the Octopus, it has interchangeable sensors that go up to 5K full frame, it’s fully programmable and runs on the open source operating system, Linux.
Last year saw the rise of epic wedding photo’s featuring bridal guests running away from dinosaurs, fighting zombies, be awesome Jedi’s and so on.
A new trend was born and I decided to hop on this bandwagon and see if I could make images like these come true.
I banded together with Aqua Libra Photography for a brainstorm session, to see what we could come up with.
