Earlier this year, Venus Optics launched two wide-angle lenses for Nikon Z. The company is now expanding its Z-mount line, along with the Canon RF mount line. Three of Venus Optics’ most popular lenses are now available for Nikon’s and Canon’s full-frame mirrorless cameras. The 12mm f/2.8, 25mm f/2.8, and 100mm f/2.8 already exist in a few other mounts, but they are now available to Nikon Z and Canon RF users as well.
Nikon’s next mirrorless lens announcement is likely to be the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S
Nikon Rumors has posted what appears to be an update to Nikon’s mirrorless roadmap which shows the Nikkor Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S lens as having already been announced. This differs slightly from the one Nikon released a couple of weeks ago which clearly showed it as yet to be announced.
The Nikon Z50 has now been announced along with two new DX Z Mount lenses
The rumours have been coming thick and fast on the Nikon Z50 lately, but now it’s official. Nikon has today announced the new Nikon Z50 DX format mirrorless camera. They’ve also announced two new DX Z Mount lenses along with it, The Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR and the Nikkor Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR.
The Z50 appears to be more of a D5x00 series continuation than a D7x00 series follow up, although it features a similar (perhaps the same) 20.9-megapixel sensor to that found in the Nikon D500, shoots 11 frames per second stills, 4K UHD video, and supports High Speed Sync flash.
Nikon Z50 promotional images leak ahead of official announcement
It’s not quite official, but almost. Nokishita has posted a couple of Nikon Z50 promotional images to Twitter ahead of an official announcement from Nikon. When images like these leak, an actual announcement is almost certainly within a few days away.
Nokishita leaked a not great Z50 photo earlier along with the new 16-50mm APS-C Z mount lens, although it did show something of the camera’s form, which isn’t all that different from the “Z1” photo which got out several months ago. It looks like I called it on the APS-C Z Mount mirrorless, too (despite the “FX” logo on the body).
Here’s the first leaked photo of the upcoming Nikon Z50 and 16-50mm lens
If the recent reports are true, we are only a day away from the official announcement of Z50, an APS-C mirrorless camera from Nikon. Some specs and expected prices have already leaked, and there’s now the first photo of the camera paired with the upcoming 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 lens.
Nikon Z50 and three new lenses coming this week, here are the expected prices
According to some recent reports, we’re only two days away from the official announcement of the Nikon Z50 and two new Z lenses. And it looks like the Nikon Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens will join the party, too. The latest reports say they will all be launched together, and we now have the expected prices of the upcoming gear.
Nikon Z50 APS-C mirrorless camera could be announced next week, here are the rumored specs
According to recent reports, Nikon will soon announce a new mirrorless camera, the first APS-C model of the Z series. There hasn’t been much information about the camera so far, but we now know more about the expected specs. And what’s more, the camera may be coming as soon as next week.
Report: Nikon soon to announce Z50 mirrorless APS-C camera and two new lenses
After two full-frame mirrorless cameras, Nikon is reportedly launching the first APS-C camera in the Z series. Along with it, it’s set to launch two new zoom DX lenses: a 16-55mm f/3.5-6.3 and a 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3.
Nikon’s rumoured 60-megapixel camera will shoot 16-bit RAW
It looks like the rumours of Nikon bringing out a 60-megapixel mirrorless camera might be coming true. With the popularity of the D850, it’s not surprising that Nikon would be looking to beef up their mirrorless lineup with a high-resolution camera. And after the announcement of the Sony A7R IV, and Nikon’s tendency toward Sony sensors, 60-megapixels was not out of the realm of possibility.
According to screenshots obtained by Nikon Rumors, though, it looks like it’s actually coming. The images show an “FX” system with a resolution of 9552 x 6364 pixels (60.07-megapixels). They also show the possibility of 16-bit NEF raw files, too.
Nikon launches the wide-angle 24mm f/1.8 S lens for Z-mount mirrorless cameras
Back in January, Nikon updated its roadmap of 23 Z-mount lenses. The 24mm f/1.8 S was scheduled for 2019, and now it’s officially here. The wide-angle prime is designed for Nikon’s full-frame Z-mount mirrorless cameras, and it will cost just under $1,000. Nikon aims it particularly at landscape, cityscape, and architecture photographers, but those shooting environmental portraits and group shots will also benefit from this focal length.
