Six years after it was first introduced, Sony A7 has now been marked as discontinued. The concept lives on in its later iterations, but the original A7 is no longer available through major online camera retailers.
If the rumors are correct, Canon is working on an EF/RF hybrid EOS mirrorless camera. Now, Canon Watch suggests that this camera will support a moving sensor. And when they say a moving sensor, they mean a sensor that sits on some kind of rails and can move to adjust between different flange distances.
Canon’s EOS 5DS and 5DSR have proven quite popular amongst landscape, architecture, product, macro and other photographers who demand high resolutions over speed. But they were released in 2015 and Canon has shown no indication that they’ll be replaced by an upcoming DSLR. A high-resolution EOS R mirrorless model, however, has been rumoured for a while now.
Now it looks like the folks at Canon Rumors have managed to get their hands on some possible specs for the new high-res mirrorless, which they’re dubbing the “EOS Rs”. Their source also claims to have shot with a prototype of the new model, and that we can expect an announcement possibly as soon as February.
This is the strangest thing I’ve heard in a long time, but according to Canon Rumors, Canon is working on an EF/RF hybrid mount mirrorless camera that doesn’t use any kind of lens adapters. They’ve marked the rumour as a “CR2”, indicating that the information has come from a known reliable source, but I just can’t imagine how this is even possible.
Rumours of the Leica SL2 have been out for a while now. We saw photos and a list of specs leaked two months ago. But now, Leica has officially announced the Leica SL2; A 47.3-megapixel full-frame L mount mirrorless camera capable of shooting stills at up to 20fps, 4K video at 60fps, and 1080p HD slow motion at up to 180fps.
Granted, it’s not much of a pocket camera once you stick one of those L mount Art series lenses on it, but the Sigma FP is still a pretty tiny camera. It represents Sigma’s first L mount camera in the Sigma/Leica/Panasonic alliance announced at Photokina 2018. It’s not quite the full-frame Foveon beast we hoped for, but it still looks pretty good.
We caught up with Sigma at PhotoPlus 2019 to find out more about the Sigma FP and what it can do.
Sigma FP was announced back in July, but without the expected retail price. But now the price and availability have finally been disclosed. The new full-frame L-mount mirrorless camera from Sigma comes with lots of improvements and changes over the previous models. So, the price is substantially higher compared to the previous models.
It’s not quite official, but almost. Nokishita has posted a couple of Nikon Z50 promotional images to Twitter ahead of an official announcement from Nikon. When images like these leak, an actual announcement is almost certainly within a few days away.
Nokishita leaked a not great Z50 photo earlier along with the new 16-50mm APS-C Z mount lens, although it did show something of the camera’s form, which isn’t all that different from the “Z1” photo which got out several months ago. It looks like I called it on the APS-C Z Mount mirrorless, too (despite the “FX” logo on the body).
