With all the hype and waiting for the “Endgame” movie, I decided to create a fun photo of possibly one of the coolest bad guys in a movie series to date… Thanos aka Funko Pop 289 from the infinity war series.
I wanted to create this image using a simple LED torch in the hopes to inspire others to be creative with whatever they have laying around and hopefully try new things.
My daughter LOVES female superheroes and I LOVE making her superhero dreams come true. The other day she literally thought she was a superhero. She came home from school one day and told us that her friends had made fun of her because of her worn down shoes. To my surprise, she didn’t seem too affected, and so I kept asking for more details. After all, she’s a 5 year old who makes up a bunch of stories anyway, and I wanted to get to the bottom of it.
She told me that in fact she had been made fun of but instead of being sad, she told me it was ok because she was a superhero! I didn’t realize the impact that my photoshoots had on her until just yesterday when I heard that. So all that being said… here is what I surprised her with…
The Terror Attack in Barcelona on 17 August 2017 took lives of fifteen people. Among them, there was a sweet and charming Australian boy Julian Cadman. A year after the terrible event, Karen Alsop and her team behind The Heart Project created a heartbreaking tribute for this 7-year-old boy Marvel fan who lost his life in the tragedy. Using phone photos provided by his parents, Karen created an Avengers-style movie poster to pay an honor to little Julian.
I’ve seen some great toy photography used to recreate different kinds of scenes. I’ve also seen many awesome recreations of artwork. But Spanish photographer David Cubero combines toys and photography to recreate famous works of art. He uses Marvel toys to do it, and the results are not only well executed, but also very amusing. Let’s see if you can guess which photo represents which work of art.
