Aputure has announced the LS 600D – a slightly cut down version of its LS 600D Pro with a $500 price reduction

Aputure has announced their new Light Storm 600D – non-Pro version. It features many of the same capabilities as the LS 600D Pro but does lose a few of its more advanced functions, along with weather sealing. It also loses $500 off its price tag, coming in at $1,390 rather than the $1,890 that the Pro model commands. Essentially, it’s an indoor version of the LS 600D Pro.

Aputure says at the LS 600D performance is essentially the same as the LS 600D Pro, which means you’re still going to get the same light output and colour accuracy, with its CRI and TLCI of 96 at 5600K. You still get continuous dimming from 0-100%, although it’s in 1% increments rather than 0.1%. You still get Sidus Link and wired DMX control but you lose wireless DMX control. And of course, there’s that loss of weather sealing.

Aputure has finally released their Light Storm LS60D and LS60X LED lights

First announced in May last year, the Aputure Light Storm LS60D and LS60X LED lights are now officially here. Available in both daylight (LS60D) and bicolour (LS60X) variants, the new lights offer an adjustable beam angle, weatherproofing. Both lights also offer a multitude of power options from the supplied AC adapter or through the use of a weatherproof DC input.

It’s taken a little longer than expected for Aputure to bring these to market, having initially expected them to come in Summer 2020, but they look like a pretty exciting addition to the Light Storm product lineup.

Aputure announces new LS-60D daylight and LX-60X bicolour LED lights

Aputure’s been coming pretty thick and fast on the announcements lately, and now they’ve announced their new Light Storm 60D daylight and 60X bi-colour adjustable focusing LED lights. As the name suggests, these are 60 Watt LEDs, and everything is built inside the head, meaning there’s no external control unit to have to deal with.

So far, they’ve only been announced, not released, and both lights may be subject to some changes before the final products are released. The price of the new units is also not set yet. A release is expected at some point in Q3, although presumably, we’ll find out a final price before then.
