First photos of Leica S3 leaked ages ago, and earlier this year we saw the specs leak as well. But now it’s official: Leica S3 is out. Leica S3 medium format camera specs leaked, should come soon
We’ve been waiting for the Leica medium-format S3 for a while now. And it looks like it’s about to elbow its way into what has become a crowded medium-format segment pretty soon. According to Leica Rumors a 64MP Leica S3 medium format camera is just around the corner. and the full specs are available.
The camera will come with a Leica 64MP CMOS sensor with a 4.6μm pixel size. According to the report, there will be no low-pass filter for better detail and greater sharpness.

The Panasonic/Sigma/Leica alliance wasn’t the only thing that Leica spoke about yesterday during the Photokina press event. They’ve also officially announced the new Leica S3 medium format camera.
There still aren’t really many details, but it does increase the resolution from the S2’s 37.5MP up to 64MP. sure, it might not be quite as high resolution as the GFX 100S Fuji announced yesterday, but that’s still pretty impressive.

It seems that a potential Leica/Panasonic/Sigma collaboration might not be all that’s officially announced tomorrow at Photokina. It appears that Leica China has posted a photo and description of the new Leica S3 medium format camera to their website a little early.
