A few days ago, we learned that Panasonic was about to go wide. We took a peek at the leaked specs and two leaked photos of the company’s new lens, and now it’s officially out.

The Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 9mm f/1.7 ASPH. lens has just been released. It’s a lightweight wide-angle lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras, and one of the widest MFT lenses on the market.

It looks like Panasonic is about to make some MFT shooters happy with its upcoming lens. The company is reportedly launching a Leica 9mm f/1.7 MFT lens, and it could be released within just days from now. However, as it often happens, some photos and specs have already leaked. One of three Leica prototype lenses sells for $290,300 at an auction

I guess we’re all used to Leica gear being expensive. But when it’s rare as this Vario-Elmar-M 3.5-5.6/28-75mm ASPH. prototype lens, it gets even pricier. This Vario-Elmar prototype is one of only three existing in the world, and it was recently sold at an auction for a whopping €240,000, which is more than $290,300 USD.

Leica has just relaunched nine M-mount lenses we’ve already been familiar with. But this time, they’re cheaper. The thing is that they were made in Portugal instead of Germany, but according to Leica – they keep the same high-quality performance. Still, they are up to $500 cheaper than their German counterparts.
