Did Apple just secretly solve vertical video with the iPhone 8?

The iPhone 8 has been a hotly anticipated device. Most notably because it marks the 10th anniversary since the initial iPhone release in 2007. People expect Apple to make a big deal of it, with some major upgrades and features. And as far as design goes, there definitely looks to have been some rather substantial changes.

Pictures have been leaked to BGR of a real life mockup reported to be the final design of the iPhone 8. The two most obvious changes from current iPhones are the removal of the physical home button, resulting in more screen space and vertically oriented cameras on the back. The mockup unit seems to very closely resemble renders created from schematics last month.

Leaked photos suggest Fuji’s new Instax SQ10 Square camera might be an analogue digital hybrid

Fuji’s Instax square format camera was first mentioned at Photokina back in September last year. At the time it was “in development”. Shortly after they released a somewhat cryptic short movie to advertise the camera. Now, it seems the development may be completed. Fuji Rumors are reporting what appear to possibly be the first photos of the new Fuji Instax SQ10 square format camera.

Surprisingly one photo shows a large LCD on the back. This LCD has led to some to suggest that this might be some kind of analogue digital hybrid camera. A digital camera with a sort of LightJet style printing technique. This might also explain why there doesn’t appear to be a viewfinder. Others have gone even further, suggesting that it might be possible to use it to print images from smartphones.

Did GoPro just leak photos of the Hero5, Karma drone and a new handheld gimbal on their website?

GoPro are officially announcing their new Karma drone on September 19th, perhaps the Hero5, too. GoPro have kept both a very closely guarded secret for months. It looks like somebody at the GoPro website got a little eager, though. For a short time, GoPro’s European websites displayed an image of a drone, a strange looking camera, and a handheld gimbal in the header.

One can only assume that these are the Karma drone and Hero5 action camera. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen hardware and software creators leak themselves. I would, however, have expected tighter controls on a product surrounded by as much secrecy as the Karma.

If I had to take a wild guess, I would say that DJI will uncover their next drone in Photokina in two weeks, but some quadcopter-oriented blogs are already sharing leaked images and info.

According to heliguy the next DJI consumer drone will be called the DJI Mavic. It will also completely change its core design. bye bye X-shaped massive drone and hello foldable, compact, ready to fly design.

More photo leaks show updates to Canon 16-35mm and 24-105mm lenses

It almost feels like the manufacturers leak these things themselves, sometimes, just to get some buzz going. After the recent 5D Mark IV leaks, we see two more. This time, it’s a couple of lenses.

The 16-35mm f/2.8 and 24-105mm f/4 are both favourites amongst Canon shooters. The 24-105mm f/4L IS USM first introduced by Canon in 2005 has been a highly regarded lens since day one. The 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM was released in 2007 and is the go-to wide zoom for many.

First full images of the Canon 5D Mark IV leaked

It appears the first full images of the actual 5D Mark IV body have been leaked. There’s a couple of visual changes between it and its predecessor. The most obvious being that the “Mark XX” badge has been moved. This has allowed Canon to move the shutter release cable socket around to the front.

The eagle eyed amongst you may also spot that the microphone grill seems to have disappeared. It doesn’t appear on the other photos, though. Not that an internal microphone is all that great, but I do wonder how good the sound will be for syncing purposes.

As the saying goes – when it rains, it pours.

The first leaked photos of the D5 appeared less than two days ago and additional photos have already surfaced, shedding more light on Nikon’s next flagship DSLR camera.

The sensor’s megapixel count was one of the two major unknowns about the camera and the latest photos confirm it will be receive a 4MP upgrade over its predecessor, the D4s.

There have been no rumors so far about another unknown, the types of memory cards used in the D5, but Nikon Rumors now reports that Nikon might be dropping the XQD in favor of two CF cards.

Nikon D5 Photos Leaked; Why Is It Using A Sigma Lens?

The long-anticipated Nikon D5 flagship camera has finally shown itself in the first leaked photos, posted by Nikon Rumors.

Since most of the recent rumored specs are very similar to the originally rumored specs, the most interesting aspect of the photos might be the fact that attached to it a Sigma lens.

It’s one thing when photos of your still-under-wraps product leaks, but it kind of embarrassing when it’s your flagship model and it’s seen using a competitor’s lens.

Other than that there seems to be a new button added and several, including the ISO button, have moved.

Leaked Images Reveal a Full Frame Sigma 24-35mm f/2 ART Lens; Coming “Soon”

Sigma has hit it off big time with the ART series of lenses and if these leaked images are real it seems the company has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

For years now there has been talk about a rumored 24-70 f/2 lens coming from Sigma, and this might be the lens behind all the chatter.

While disappointing that the focal length doesn’t go all the way to 70mm, Sigma has done an amazing job lately with its lenses and I don’t expect this one to be an exception.

Trust Issues: The 4Chan Photo Leak, and What We Need to Learn From It

Louis CK did a bit on Jimmy Kimmel Live, once, where he spoke about Cloud services, and just how absurd it sounds to pay someone you don’t know to look after your personal pictures.

That video’s been getting reposted pretty frequently since what happened over the weekend, and it’s no wonder why. For those who don’t know by now, last Saturday the private pictures of over 10 different celebrities were leaked onto the internet by an anonymous user on 4Chan. According to the running stories, the pictures may have all came from iCloud, and someone found a way to hack into the servers. Literally hours after appearing on 4Chan, those pictures were on the front page of Reddit; twenty-four hours later, the FBI released a statement declaring that the leaker will be brought to justice.
