Venus Optics has released quite a lot of interesting lenses over the past few years. And now, four of the most popular and most unusual ones are available in L-mount. Venus Optics has just launched the L-mount version of two wide-angle lenses and two macro lenses: 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye, 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D, 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe, and 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro.
Earlier this year, Venus Optics launched two wide-angle lenses for Nikon Z. The company is now expanding its Z-mount line, along with the Canon RF mount line. Three of Venus Optics’ most popular lenses are now available for Nikon’s and Canon’s full-frame mirrorless cameras. The 12mm f/2.8, 25mm f/2.8, and 100mm f/2.8 already exist in a few other mounts, but they are now available to Nikon Z and Canon RF users as well.
WPPI has been a good one this year for gear announcements. We’ve got the very impressive looking new Sony A7III camera and a whole slew of new E-Mount Art series lenses from Sigma. A couple of new entry level bodies from Canon as well as the new EOS M50 mirrorless. We’ve also seen a new AD200 competitor appear from Cactus who say it’s only just the beginning. Oh yeah, and then there’s that funny robotic speedlight from Canon.
There were a few items we didn’t cover, though. So, let’s have a look at everything that was announced. All the stuff we told you about and all the stuff we didn’t in one place.
Laowa has introduced a couple of interesting lenses so far. Now they’re adding two new primes to their family: 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro and 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D. Both lenses come in several different mounts and promise high-quality image at a pretty affordable price. Check out the specs and a hands-on review after the jump, and see if there’s something new to add to your gear bag.
