Award winning Chinese photographer goes missing in Xinjiang

Award-winning Chinese photographer Lu Guang has gone missing earlier this month. His wife Xu Xiaoli says that she last heard from him on 3 November, and she claims that he was taken away by national security officers.

Clinton Campaign Walks Reporters With Rope, Media Calls It ‘Humiliating’

The Clintons have a history of secrecy that goes back long before they ever made it to the White House the first time around.  So it’s of little surprise when Hillary gets a little testy with the media on the campaign trail.  But, this isn’t a political rant written by a libertarian-anarchist who loathes all politicians equally.  This is about photography.

While stomping the ground in Gorman, New Hampshire over the holiday weekend, Clinton campaign staffers decided that if words were not enough to corral the media that more assertive measures would have to be taken.  This resulted in members of the media who were staying ahead of Clinton in the Independence Day parade to be literally roped off, with aides allowing the media to only go where campaign members wanted them to.

Following The Arrests Of Two Journalists, A Crew Of TV Reporters Were Tear Gassed, Had Equipment Dismantled By SWAT Team For Covering The Ferguson Protests

As the protest happening in Ferguson, Missouri following the death of an unarmed teenager who was shot by a police officer, enters it’s 5th day, it appears the police are vigilantly enforcing a complete media blackout. Social media is buzzing with reports of journalists, photographers, and videographers being assaulted, shot at with rubber bullets, and arrested by the St. Louis County Police. A video from local NBC affiliate, KSDK, shows a news crew from Al Jazeera America TV being tear gassed as they attempted to report on the protest. As soon the journalists cleared out, this happened:

In case it isn’t very obvious, a SWAT team in full riot gear swooped in and began breaking down the journalists camera equipment and lighting setup. Sadly, this isn’t the only case of photographers and journalists having their rights violated while reporting on the event.

Award Winning Photographer Arrested (Again), Has Cameras Confiscated

According to a press release from The Bahrain Center For Human Rights, renowned street and war photographer, Ammar Abdulrasool has just been arrested. Again. Ammar was taken in what appears to be a succession of illegal raids targeting photographers and journalists that took place in Bahrain during the past weeks.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
