You can now permanently turn off Night Mode in iPhone 11 and 12

Apple first introduced the Night Mode with the iPhone 11 two years ago. It would automatically turn on every time you’d open a camera to shoot in low light. Apparently, many users hated the automatic enabling of the feature, so Apple now finally allows you to turn it off permanently.

Apple launches iPhone 11 smart battery case with a dedicated camera button

Apple has introduced a new series of its Smart Battery Cases for iPhone 11. And just like the phone is all about photography – so are the cases. There are three versions of the new battery case, and each of them has a dedicated camera button for easier access to your phone’s camera.

iPhone 11 pro: my return to Apple

Before I going into this one, let me first lay a little groundwork for the background I have with Apple. A number of years back, I was in love with the iPhone 4S. I felt it was a phone made for photographers and supported it wholeheartedly, going so far as doing speeches at Apple stores about how their products catered to my workflow. As time went on, the light in which I held Apple began to fade, leading to writing the articles, “iPhone is not for Photographers” and “Microsoft: Photographers New Suitor.” In a nutshell, I was genuinely bummed since there was a certain amount of pride I took in using Apple products, for I was raised to love them by my parents, who used them as teachers.

Smartphones are getting smarter with every new generation, and so are their cameras. But when you combine a good photographer and a good smartphone, the sky is the limit. Quite literally. Zach Honig of The Points Guy recently shot magnificent Northern lights with nothing but his iPhone, handheld at a 3s exposure. He shared his experience and some photos with DIYP, so let’s see how he did it.

Apple’s new iPhone 11 has triple camera system and it’s all about photography and video

Apple has announced its latest flagship phone, iPhone 11. It comes in three versions: iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, and all of them are aimed at photographers and videographers. All three models feature 12MP sensors and shoot up to 4K 60fps video. The iPhone 11 is the most affordable and has a dual camera, but the Pro and Max versions come with the triple camera system, with standard, telephoto, and ultra-wide lenses. Let’s check out the specs and see what the latest iPhone models have to offer.

Alex Baker is a portrait and lifestyle driven photographer based in Valencia, Spain. She works on a range of projects from commercial to fine art and has had work featured in publications such as The Daily Mail, Conde Nast Traveller and El Mundo, and has exhibited work across Europe

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
