Meta confirms: Instagram’s IGTV app is no more

Meta has announced that it’s shutting down Instagram’s dedicated IGTV app. It won’t be supported any longer, and it will also soon be removed from app stores.

From now on, all videos, long and short, will be merged into the existing Instagram app. You’ll be able to see all of them on your Feed, along with Reels, videos, and photos.

Since Instagram has become everything but a photo-sharing app, it was about time for some restructuring a bunch of features it offers. So , from now on, IGTV videos will be a part of your Feed just like other videos posted by the people you follow.

Instagram could finally let you fast-forward videos

It’s not uncommon for Instagram to test and implement all sorts of new features. But it seems that the latest change will be what many of us have been waiting for: fast-forwarding videos. According to app researcher Jane Manchun Wong, Instagram could finally let you skip backwards and forwards through videos in your feed.

Stop Instagram from ruining your videos with this easy technique

Instagram is notorious for destroying the quality of videos posted to your feed. You spend all this time editing a video in Premiere Pro, Resolve or whatever only to have it destroyed by recompression algorithms. It actually puts many people off posting videos to the platform at all. But all is not lost.

Filmmaker and YouTuber Daniel Schiffer believes he’s cracked the problem. And looking at his Instagram, it seems that he may have done just that. He doesn’t look to be having quality issues at all. In this video, Daniel walks us through his process from the rendering on the desktop to pushing it out on Instagram.
