The Insta360 Titan shoots 11K video for capturing high end 360 degree content

The Insta360 Titan is a ridiculous beast of a camera. It offers a level of quality that most of us will never need in our wildest dream projects. But if you’re shooting high-end immersive content, it could be the ideal tool for the job.

The Insta360 Titan houses eight Micro Four Thirds sensors to offer a combined 11K resolution at 30 frames per second, but it can also shoot 8K at up to 60 frames per second or 5.3K at 120 frames per second. Oh, and it can also shoot 3D 360 video at 10K resolution at 30fps. We had a chat with Insta360 at NAB 2019 to find out more about it.

Insta360’s new Titan houses eight Micro Four Thirds sensors and shoots up to 11K 360° video

Just a few short years ago, nobody had ever heard the name Insta360. Established in 2014, they’re now one of the first names many people turn to when it comes to 360° cameras. And they’re constantly pushing themselves with bigger and better. Now, at CES 2019, Insta360 has announced the new Insta360 Titan, which shoots 11K 360 video footage.

The new Titan contains eight Micro Four Thirds sensors and is capable of shooting 11K footage at 30 frames per second, or you can take a slight drop in resolution for 3D, which is 10K at 30 frames per second. The Titan also offers 8K at 60fps or 5.3K at a very impressive 120 frames per second.

Dave Williams is an accomplished travel photographer, writer, and best-selling author from the UK. He is also a photography educator and published Aurora expert. Dave has traveled extensively in recent years, capturing stunning images from around the world in a modified van. His work has been featured in various publications and he has worked with notable brands such as Skoda, EE, Boeing, Huawei, Microsoft, BMW, Conde Nast, Electronic Arts, Discovery, BBC, The Guardian, ESPN, NBC, and many others.

John Aldred is a photographer with over 20 years of experience in the portrait and commercial worlds. He is based in Scotland and has been an early adopter - and occasional beta tester - of almost every digital imaging technology in that time. As well as his creative visual work, John uses 3D printing, electronics and programming to create his own photography and filmmaking tools and consults for a number of brands across the industry.

Dunja Djudjic is a multi-talented artist based in Novi Sad, Serbia. With 15 years of experience as a photographer, she specializes in capturing the beauty of nature, travel, and fine art. In addition to her photography, Dunja also expresses her creativity through writing, embroidery, and jewelry making.
